Moss agate is one of the more modest members of the chrystal world.
It lacks the glitter of lapis lazuli, the radiance of clear quartz,
or the chatoyance of tiger's eye, a flashier representative of the
agate family. However if you examine a moss agate closely you may
discover a world within it. Traditionally, it has been considered
a good stone for people involved in botany or agriculture, and many
people feel that it can be used to establish a connection with
nature spirits. It can be used to correct imbalances and conflicts
between the left brain and right brain. It can help highly
methodical people let go of some of their restrictions and assists
highly creative people to be more practical.
This is an unusual example of moss agate since the matrix is
predominately dark and appears less transparent than usual.
This particular stone was lapped by Joyce.
The sculpturing on this stone has been reduced to show the unusual
stone at its best. The 33 x 24mm agate has been sculpted in 14Kt
gold filled wire. The sculpture is approxmately 2" x 1" including
the bail.
